308 running costs

Doing a bit of research on running a 308... anyone had any experience, or got any comments on these people:

On trackdays I've found that disks / pads are pretty much disposable items!, so reasonable cost is a must!
Any other comments on running a 308, 6-8k miles a year mainly weekend / fun use...

Have used superformance in the past, kinda going off them now. They're okay for "cheap" Ferrari bits, but I find the quality is not there. For example I bought a heat shield for 50 quid from them. It does the job, but isn't that good quality. I later bought a genuine, similar shaped shield for another location in the engine bay, which cost 120 quid from a dealer, but the quality is 10x better.

As much as I love 308's I dont know that I'd recommend one for track use. Dont get me wrong, they are bullet proof mechanically esp the engine, and have lovely handling, but in modern performance terms they aren't quite up there any more (my "modest" X flow westie would beat the 308 round the track) and for the 20k to 30k you'd spend on a 308 there are plenty of other, MUCH faster cars out there.
Depends how much track work you wanna use. In every other respect I can't recommend 308's enough, and love 'em to bits

As regards track use, we're maybe talking 3-4 trackdays a year. I'm not concerned that it won't be the quickest thing round the track, I'm not really into racing, I'm just looking for the most fun! I realise that it'll be a step backwards in terms of performance from my TVR, but I've always wanted a Ferrari, and there's no reason why it shouldn't be able to do 3-4 track outings a year (I hope!).

Definately no reason why you can't track a 308, I think there's even one of these "race for a day" companies that uses a 308.
You've just got to remember that with any Ferrari the prices (tyres, brakes etc) will be dearer.
But she'll be great fun on track, especially the bigger tracks where she can stretch her legs (gearing is biased more towards everything over 60mph, not the 0-60 sprint). Plus the fab handling of course.
