Has anybody tried MA's chips from his eBay shop yet?

Thinking of purchasing one, has anyone taken the plunge yet?

Cheers
Rich

Mark Adams seems to have a fantastic reputation so I cannot see you going wrong really, especially at that price!

The ad is quite confusing as it talks about getting the AFM, Injectors and Chip and then talks in the text about standard injectors and raising fuel pressure? I assume it is just a generic ad for all.

I've just been having a look around and you can get a MA chip, personally custom to your car, advertised for £350! I'm assuming you'll have the cost of the rolling road and labour on top of that...

...can anyone out there confirm/deny this?

Yes, that sounds about right for the chip. You'll then need to pay for Mark's and the RR's time to set it up (hour or two), and hope he doesn't discover anything nasty and expensive wrong with your car in the process!

Can you simply plug the chip into the ECU and go or do you have to have the Rolling Road session aswell ?? It's just that £400 is a lot of money but if you add another £300 on top of that it becomes a bit too much !

The ECU chips for sale contain a generic map from the looks of it, so this will be an improvement over standard, but not as much of an improvement as you'd get from a custom map specific to your car.

Yeah my thoughts exactly, for £417 I can get a chip delivered with a generic mapping generated from all the chips MA has created from years of tuning OR I could travel a fair few 100 miles down the M1 from Yorkshire pay £350 plus £165 to £200 (labour/RR) plus parts (if needed) for a custom map and a good fettling of the engine.

Oh why does life bring such difficult questions?!? irked

I think it's eBay time...

Hi Rich,

Just out of interest did you get the chip individually setup on the RR for you car or did you just plug the chip in ?

I bought it from eBay so it's just a plug 'n go. But I need to get greasy at do a bit of fettling under the bonnet, clean and gap the plugs, dizzy, rotor arm etc. I also need to dust off the strobe timing light and check the static timing.

I've also got a MagnaParva t-spacer to fit too, so I think I'll take it to the RR to get everything set up spot on when it's all done

Didn't get chance tonight to take it for a spin but I'm sure it just sounds better when I started it up after fitting the chip (maybe that's just me)

I'm amused by the products for 5.2 and 5.5 Chims.

Yes, I know they exist but that's a miniscule market.

I'm amused by the prices of some of the stuff he's selling (not the ECUs/chips)! Some stuff more than twice the cost of buying else where! But fair play if someone is stupid enough to pay for them!
