Can anyone help please?

My 97 Chimp's hand book says the paint colour is Avus Blue but doesn't show the paint code. I've tried contacting the factory but they've not been too helpful so far

I believe from speaking to some PHers that TVR may have used more than 1 code for this colour and getting the right one may be a bit hit or miss, so if someone with an Avus Blue car around the same age can help I'd be much obliged.

Thanks

I think his Chimaera *may* be Avus Blue from memory

Check out his profile first maybe!

Look on the chassis plate on the wing in the engine bay. It gives the body colour code. Then either ask your dealer; or fax Mike Penny's department at TVR a polite letter. He and Kevin are very helpful blokes.

Thanks Bennno. Sadly there's no Halfords here (see profile). The local Rover dealer offers this service, which I used to get some touch up paint for my P1. The match was so bad I couldn't use it

Thanks. I will look at the weekend (why didn't I think of that?)

Do you have their fax number or email address?

Thanks - I had a butcher's at his website. No colour mentioned but his car looks lighter than mine. If the chassis plate doesn't reveal the code I'll try emailing him.

Thanks all.

I can find a body code but no mention of colour. Is this the same?

Thanks Jon,

I am changing mirrors (same as Andy Holden's Griff) www.pistonheads.com/tvr/default.asp?storyId=6095

Any idea how much it'd cost to paint my VW mirrors and mounting adapters?

I painted Andy's mirrors and mirror base. I think it was about £100.00 with vat.
