My father has decided, after years it seems, to treat himself to the car he always wanted and has decided on a Bentley Brooklands. He has found an imaculate low millage example that looks good to me. Same owner for ten years, bben in a garage all that time, full Bentley garage servicing and so forth.

What questions should he be asking? Are there things that commonly go wrong with these? And advice for a prospective owner, new to Bentley and such cars (he currently runs a Rover 75).

Thanks

I would want to know what work was carried out at the last service...........common practice with Bentleys is have a basic service, get the stamp in the book, and sell the car............however advised repairs needed have not been done. A repair bill of £5K++ is not uncommon on these cars. Have it inspected.

Thanks for that anyway.

This car has apparently has been driven to the local Bentley dealer for servicing in the last few years, and that's about it. The rear seats look completely unused and the guy has only discovered that it has a comprehensive toolkit when showing my dad the boot!
