Help Please

Hi,
I’m wondering if anyone out there can help me.
I am looking for an independent BMW specialist, who knows everything there is to know about the E36 M3 S50 engine (VANOS system in particular) to use for servicing and general maintenance. My previous experiences with main dealers has not impressed me at all!! You tend to end up with some spotty work experience kid playing around with your pride and joy!?! Plus they tend to charge what they want and change parts that didn’t even need changing!!!
I live in Oldham near Manchester and if you know of anywhere in the North West or even in Yorkshire I would be great full to hear from you!
