setting up China office with access to UK office

We have an associate who works for us in China. We'd like to give her (a Chinese citizen) access to our corporate network (either VPN or direct into the Viatel "cloud" we have (whatever that means 
)
Anyway, I'm sure technically we can do this, but would the Chinese authorities be happy - since she would then have unfettered access to the internet.
Stories like http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/technology suggest we need to be careful.
Anyone in PHville setup similar access within China?
