Hi again, New boy here!I have done 700 miles since collecting my 350, I know oil was checked when l drove car away and was Ok. Just need to know when checking oil at working temperature(was 75%)I turned engine off, removed oil cap, cleaned stick and replaced it. Oil was only just on stick, is this correct, or should after turning of engine and removing cap and what is showing on stick before being cleaned and replaced back in the oil tank the correct reading!!

I was up at TVR Power this weekend and discovered that their S6 policy is now not to run 0W-40 even after 6000 miles, unless tracking the car and changing the oil regularly. It appears that in their opinion a slightly higher viscosity oil is better than a 0W-40 which will inevitably run at a slightly lower pressure.

It also seems clearer that if you drive the car hard and the engine higher up the rev range that oil consumption will be higher per mile.
