In the process of pricing up a new PC, budget restricts me to 1 Gb RAM is it better to go for 1x1Gb stick or 2x512Mb matched sticks? I've been looking at corsair and the prices a very similar cheers chris
What PC, most these days use dual channel ram so more bandwidth with 2 sticks rather than 1, and a good PC will have 4 slots at least for upgradability.
Agree with Rob, all modern motherboards are Dual Channel meaning if you only use 1 stick you will half your bandwidth and thus pretty much cripple the system, go for matched memory
