Outrigger and Upper Ball Joint Question

Hi folks I’m new to this forum so be gentle

I normally hang out on the ‘S’ forum, so don’t tell them where I am! I have just purchased a 1982 Tasmin 280i +2 that needs some TLC.

Having jacked it up on Monday I’ve found that the near side outrigger needs replacing, offside has already been fitted by the previous owner.

Before I remove it I would like to buy the new tubing, does anyone know what wall section or I/D is and what material TVR used?
I measured the tube last night and found it to be 1.5” O/D, is this right?

Also, I need two upper ball joints. Would they be from a Mk 3 or 4 Cortina?
And where would be the best place purchase them from?

1.5" or 38mm diameter, 2mm wall (about .080", 16swg). A bit thicker wouldn't hurt if you can't get 2mm.


Mk 4 Cortina balljoints certainly, dunno about the Mk3.
