My mums xbox has gone tits up So I have given her my PS2 until the Wii is out. I have not played it since GT4 came out. and have put her name down for a Wii. But as i have not read up much about it anyone know when its out and game etc..

We'll know the full details by tomorrow as that's when the official European announcements gonna be made, so far the main points from the American launch are, 1 controller in the pack, Wii sports bundled in with it, $249, Zelda as a launch title, released in America 2 weeks before Japan (and the early rumours had suggested Europe would be getting it first for once). Plus it will be region free (at least for 1st party games, 3rd party developers can apparently put a region lock on, but whether they will or not is another matter) so you'll be able to import all the games from Japan or America.

Eurogamer will have live text updates during the conference (starts in 10 mins). Yesterday, Argos changed the release date on their website to 'March 2007', but then a few hours later, all info was removed. I'm hoping we don't get PS3ed, I want to be Wiiing before Xmax. Anyway, we'll find out very soon, check Eurogamer for updates...

I wonder if the usual suspects will do their own bundles (i.e. £200 for a second controller & game).
Must admit the Wii is the console I've been waiting for at least until the 360 is mod chipped to hell and back allowing it to run 3rd party apps.
