Couple of years back when I had my Griff we got 164 through the trap at Vmax, in fact I did about twenty runs that day all 160+ with a passenger and a pretty full tank of petrol! Totally std 95 Griff 500, with a slightly favourable wind mind you but I for one would say my old car could do 0-60 in low 4's as well as that top speed. I think the supposed 167mph/0-60 4.1secs is maybe a bit optimistic but a decent car won't be far off them!!

In a straightforward sprint on a two mile 'runway' mine had similar performance to a Yamaha 600 Thundercat. Bike pulled 50m or so on acceleration but once car got going reeled in bike and passed it suprisingly quickly.
in the bikes defence though its hardly a very sporty model
i would have thought 5 seconds ish was what mine was capable of 0-60 in
I remember an old episode of, I think, Top Gear when the all new Astra GTE was released with a 0-60 of 8.6 secs. They invited owners to bring theirs to compare. The best one was nearly 10 secs! Why? It turns out that manufacturers wreck the cars on these tests with professional drivers: red line the engine, drop the clutch and smash through the gears. Gear boxes fail, clutches fall apart and engines blow (without limiters!). How many of us are likely to copy that with our pride and joy? It's still a good comparison though as your quoted 4.1 Trevor is quicker than a quoted 4.2 porker.

I say 0-60 in 4.1 and a top end of 170, even though i recon this is not true, but this was quoted by TVR when the car was for sale. imho

I say exactly the same
I got my standard 500 upto 144 (GPS verified) in a foreign country last year with passenger and full boot of luggage and I reckon, the way it was still pulling, it would easily have touched 160. The Chim in front (4 litre) was struggling at this level and,incidentaly, when I accelerated sharply he also advised me he had to drop a gear to keep up!

1st attempt at 1/4 mile times and i think was changing up a bit late, so would hope to get a slightly better time next time. Pretty much granny starts & being reasonably kind to the drive train as well. I wanted to drive it home
so with a better driver would expect lower than 5secs 0-60 ... V-Max 159mph on the beams Rev limiter restricting well before the timing gear and pulling like a train
might move rev limiter next time (but again would like to drive home) slightly modified
Manufacturers figures are usually quoted on theoretical figures based on tyre grip on optimal road surface and "quoted torque figurs" gear/diff ratios etc. AS TVR are known to be genrous on the horse power, i would think 4.1 sec. is unrealistic.
EVO and Autocar mag both have actual tested figures of 4.8 sec. and 4.3 sec. respectively if i recall correctly.
The Austec Santa Pod day figures aren't the best to go by as the conditions were not ideal that day and from what i have read here the surface at the start line was very slippery. It would be interesting to see what times have been achieved at SP in better conditions Excluding the driver reaction time.

Hmmmmmmmm it would be nice to be able to quote a sub 5 secs time to 60
even 4.9 sounds fantastic.
It would be good to know how others have done especially if the runs have been timed properly.
How you doin Yam ? Do you miss the Beast yet
