I recall a thread on this but can't find it, so apologies for repeating..

Has anyone had a PSE retro-fitted to their 997? I'm told that it's the usual £1K for the pipes but there's a labour charge of about £700. I'm guessing this is because they have to fit a new switch to the console etc..

Any information would be appreciated.
Cheers

If he is about I am sure JEBLondon will be along shortly. He bought a 997 a month or so ago and had a PSE retro fitted as part of the purchase deal.

Not sure if he had all the wiring gubbins done as well.

ClarkeyJnr had a PSE fitted to his 996 and didn't bother with the wiring. After hearing the sound it gives, I doubt he will ever bother!!

search 'exhaust' in the porsche forum and you get a plethora of topics which will mainly deal with the 996

however, im pretty sure the pricing will be nigh on the same

However, i know for the 996, porsche stopped retrofitting a while back as there was a problem with whole flap thing connected to the switch

Thanks for the replies.. I was hoping to edit my order but the OPC has just told me it's too late. I knew I should have ordered it when I had the chance. I'll fork out the difference and get a retro-fit. For anyone else reading this who's thinking about getting the PSE.. DO IT..

I've been given a brand new 997 Carrera to play with whilst my 'S' is in the body shop after being reversed into last week. Mercifully the female driver left her details and her insurance coughs up the money to provide my transport. The loan car's got fab spec - 19" classics, bose and SPORTS EXHAUST! Wish I'd specc'd it on mine... it sounds fab and is a real head turner burbling up the high st in 2nd.

not having a pop at you personally but I don't get this - how do people go about choosing the spec of what is an expensive purchase? I know if I buy new the PSE is the first box to be ticked, but if I had never heard one and it come to box-ticking time I would investigate every option eg getting the OPC to fire up a PSE-equipped ar of some sort to see whether the option was worth the £

It was a very, very rushed decision when I ordered the car.. Ultimately, rushing into it cost me £700. School boy error but it's all part of the whole anticipation of delivery which I'm enjoying in a sick way?!? It's only money..
