Hello,

For some reason I get, apparently intermittently - not triggered by something I do, the System Properties dialog opening (on the Hardware tab). I've checked the device manager and nothing seems to be amiss.

Does anyone know what causes this and how to fix it? It's getting right on my tits, it is.

Thanks,
Phil.

hitting the windoze key and break brings up the properties page IIRC

It does... but at the General tab... not the Hardware tab. I don't know what's causing it to keep popping up but, it makes IE pause everytime it does.

I've only recently installed IE7 - so it could be that.
However, my Bluetooth dongle is a pile of shite and only works when it can be bothered to - it could be that.

It's really frustrating though.

Sorry about the delay in replying. Silly question did your PC do this before IE7 was installed? I dumped IE7 as it falled to print to certain network printers.
Just as a thought roll back to IE6 to see what happens.

No worries.

I think it's only since IE7, however today Bluetooth kept finding my phone, starting sync-ing etc. and then lost/disconnected my phone - with the System Properties popping up immediately afterwards/at the same time. I therefore don't know whether the lost connection prompted the dialog or the dialog lost the connection.

What I'm going to do it to remove the bluetooth dongle (as this is my hunch) and see if it stops the problem.

Failing that, I'm going to revert to IE6.

Cheers for the ideas.
Phil.

Yes I am now, but only as of yesterday. I'm trying to think whether it was a problem before then. :blank:

The router is fine'n'dandy though. It's just the BT that's the problem.

I have bluetooth, wireless internet and IE7 installed. No problem like that.

Not very helpful I know, but it's probably not IE7.

Not at all - it is useful. I still reckon it's the Bluetooth thingy. Cheers.
