Any non SBC engine installations?

Have done a search, with limited success so was wondering have any of you guys successfully carried out any non Small Block Chevy installations? Particularly interested in things like Porsche flat 6 (comes with G50 box!) or any Audi v8.
I found a link to a race team who have built a 911 engined Ultima but they obviously don’t go into any installation details.

Also was wondering if anyone has made any substantial changes to the body work, like the shape of the front clam shell for example, which is the only part of the car I’m not crazy on, could do with being a bit longer, not sure if you could change it much without upsetting the aerodynamics.

There are some alternate engines out there but you will find it difficult to get the same BHP/GBP ratio as you will with a SBC. Search for each of the different engine types you have in mind.
GTWayne is doing front clip changes. If you lengthen the nose you will have to come up with a new hinge design in order for the front clip to open. Those who have fitted a splitter have these issue so would be interested in your new hinge design.

Don't know if anyone in the UK has installed an Audi/BMW/Porsche motor in one??

As regards front clip mods - I think the short overhang front was designed not only from an aesthetics and aerodynamic point of view, but also to accomodate the hinged front clip arrangement (longer nose would prevent the clip hinging forwards much) and also to make it practical as a road car. If the nose was lengthened you could create issues with clearance over normally encountered obstacles such as speed humps.

i think there is a race car out there with a porsche flat6.

also the Ls series of engines is a nice option for a modern take on the old V8 idea. and they are VERY VERY tunable!

dam forgot that one!!! there was an article in CCC ages ago about that car! was very nice. i think it was making about 550bhp and good torque from the twin turbo V6.

not sure if i would go for it over a equaly powerfull LS1/2/6 engine though!?!?!?!?
