National Kit and Performance Car Show - Anyone Going??
Discussion
Hi Everyone
New to this forum but am about to invest in a kit car myself.. just the big decision of which one
Going to try and get down to the show at Donnington on Sunday, start scoping out my options.
Is anyone else going to venture down?

I'll try and take some pictures and post them up, but I'm no David Bailey !!
I've been looking at:
Cobra 427
Gardner Douglas 427
Dax Rush / Tojeiro... like them both
Fiero Factory – Euro 427
Pilgrim Sumo
I've got a rough idea of what I like, but it's still a girls prerogative to change her mind

I will be going and will be meeting up with my pals at the Ultima 'car park', have you considered an Ultima? You could be the first female builder/owner (I don't know of any others although they may exist). Come and say hello, we would be pleased to make your acquaintance and have a chat.

Hi Anna, if you see some nice hardtoped or closed kitcars with a possibility to use a V8 please make some pictures and some info and share them with me to get some new ideas to look also at those cars in future

My apologies ... check out the time of the post though, perhaps I can be excused, just this once? GTWayne said:

And that Saker sportscar they do races in the Netherlands with those cars, was that car also for roaduse? and with V8? because they normaly race with subaru engine's boxer 4 cill and boxer 6 cill?? looks a bit Ultima
I also like GD cars...but most are roofless but for the cobra versions you can get nice hardtops thoug...

The Saker was definitely for road use.. not sure about the engine options though.
I personally quite like the look of the Gardner-Douglas 427 with the Euro chassis - this one in fact.. I could see myself driving around in that

I visited the show yesterday and thought it was a little small, but I'm comparing it to Stoneleigh.
The sole purpose for me was to meet the guys from Extreme and to see the 360 replica, nice looking on the outside but the interior needed a little tlc, their demo was also the smaller 2.0ltr 406 peugeot donor.
My girlfriend was with me and as an 'outsider' to the kit car fraternity commented on the actual quality of some of the ferrari replicas, " they look nice but as a demo car I don't think being told 'we had to rush to prepare it for the show' was a tangeble excuse" I'm afraid I'm blinded by the beauty of the cars and know that the finish is up to an individual's taste, but is she right?
A manufacturer is displaying its' goods, if it doesn't look right it's not a good advertisement for the companys profile.
The 360 from DNA was another beauty with panel substitution to an MR2, this grabbed a lot of attention; rightly so, and I couldn't fault the guys on the stand, they were polite and imformative, I got the feeling they were very proud of their conversion, I hope they are successful with their product, it's a nice package, but I'm still going to go with the extreme due to the shear engineering and size of the car ( very close to actual dimension including wheel base).
I'll try to post some pictures later when I get home
