The G50 comes in a number of ratio configurations.
Does anyone know the MPH per 1000 RPM in top for each of the boxes using the factory GTR wheel and tyre combo.

Also can I do a mini survey to find what the normal Max RPM is for our road legal and road mannered Chevy engines.

As I am building my own engine I have the opportunity to spec the cam to produce torque and HP where I want them in the rev range.

Many thanks
Steve

My G50/52 has a 3.45:1 final drive ratio and .7 fifth gear. Which = 200 mph @ 6600 RPM with the 26.1 dia tire (tyre).

Jeff, are you using aftermarket gears?

My final gear has 30.29mph per 1000 in top gear, not really relevant for you as it has a modified diff that I don't thinks available for the G50's (it's 4:1)

There are so many variants of the box that you really need a lookup table, I think BIGMAC had one of these and forwarded it to CJ (STIG) best bet would be to get a copy of that.
You can buy aftermarket gears and they are around £600 each gear I am told.

I personelly prefer revy engines and mine was dyno'd to 7100rpm but I have set the limiter at 7000rpm, I had to specify a different cam (solid lifters) etc to get the extra revs and suffer from marginally more engine noise as a result.

However whilst I have used it on track and road I have yet to hit the limiter due to the huge power band. It's almost like a reserve above 6500rpm if I need it.
