Is this possible?

I've seen it mentioned but cant find any firm information.

Currently we have two location specific business lines, the numbers of which we want to retain.

However, we want them to move them to terminate to a VOIP line so we dont have to be in the location where the lines are so we can move house but retain a local prescence if you see what I mean.

...if they are geographic, I think you can only take em with you if you are staying in the same locale..

(we're doing the same, and have gone for non geographic this time)

Forgot I posted this...

Having done some research you can port a geographic number entirely out of the BT network and have it terminate on a VOIP line anywhere in the world.

www.gradwell.com do it.

We have a number, I port it to Gradwell, they deliver that DID as a IAX termination to an Asterisk server located in the new house in a different geographic area (could be county or even country).

Which rocks really, cheap too. £3 per month for a single number, £20 per month for a block of 10 so easy to maintain a national presence with the idea of a Scots, Northern, Midland, Southern, West number etc all terminating at the same phone.

Linked up with a managed address service one could easily appear to be a national company.
