Yep, he had the temerity in his first ever outing to beat me fair and square, 3 seconds a lap faster AND set fastest lap during the race. A man and a car to watch.

Richard,
Pleasure to meet you richard and well done. I hope your gearbox is'nt too badly damaged.
Crickey your car has some grunt! eek My elise will do an 8 sec 100 but your car would pull a good 30yds on me down the back straight!

Paul,
Fine 3rd place Paul, you are getting quicker and quicker with every race!1.56 is a good time round oulton even in an m400

Chaps

Thanks very much for the encouragement.
You all helped to make the couple of days at OP a lot of fun and even now I'm still getting a buzz from all that adrenalin!

Looking forward to Donington ... better practice my start before then!

Brilliant - well done Richard! (and Paul, of course!)
So what were the final placings?
Hope the gear box is OK, Richard and hope to be able to make it to Donny on Oct 7th (although resisting getting out onto the circuit may be more than I can handle!)

Thanks Rob.

Paul just gave me a clue how to find the results online, they are available here:-
www.msttiming.com/result.asp?table=63754rc1mes&round=oultonislcars.gif

Look at "AMOC Mid Engine Sportscars" and "Invitation Endurance" events.

Steve (kinetic) won the endurance - (well done btw).

Great pics - Paul, what's the drag coefficient of gaffer tape? I'm sure it must be higher than GRP -that's what's slowing you down, mate laugh

Just to remind everyone that to finish in front you must at least finish - I didn't, Paul did!

......and then there were two. Richard has been bold enough to step up to the challenge and he's done it in a pretty emphatic way - fastest lap on his first outing - as fast as the Ultima, which shows with a Noble you aren't necessarily relegated to the boring back of the pack so who's going to join us next year. Graham and I are hoping to get a slot in the AMOC Intermarque championship. This is for 3 car teams and we will be racing against teams of ferraris, astons and porsches. It is brilliant fun and way way way more exciting than track days. We need one more to join us. Come on someone somewhere must be up for it. Adrian, Rob, Jools, Graham?

Its a Honda Civic Typ R engine with a Supercharger, 300hp and less than 800Kg. It'll do 60 in 3.65 and 100 in 8.0 sec as per GPS datalogger and Richards car was considerably quicker in a straight line eek

As I said, Richard's car is Ultima quick. But don't let that put you of coming racing. We can have our own race at the back of the pack :-)

Paul, the reason i havn't done it yet is that i dont want to cut the car about, can't we get the MSA to approve the Noble cage over the winter. If we can i'm up for it.
