I own a spitfire 1500 and would like a touch more poke in the engine department. I want to put in a rover 3.5v8 to liven things up. I've seen this done but there is very little info on the web about it and i would like some sort of advice on the matter, so if anyone knows where to look it would be great if you could pass it on. Cheers!

I've driven a Spit with a Rover V8 and it was very overpowered. Even with a a Cossie rear end and LSD etc it would lose traction and kick the back out at the slightest wisp of pedal, and that was on dry tarmac. Dangerous, to be honest. It sounds like fun but I honestly don't think it was that fast "real world" because you couldn't use the power.

A good number of them in the TSSC too - www.tssc.org.uk

I know there was one about 12-18 months ago that was covered in the forums in some detail and was built for the owner by one of the mark specialists, which may help depending how much work you want to do your self.

Try talking to Tim Willis of Willow Triumph in Durham. He has a 3.5 Spit.
Also try the Yahoo group http://autos.groups.yahoo.com/group/S where hybrid Spits are normal.
