turn off alarm

When trying to start the griff after it had been standing for a couple of weeks, i activated the alarm as the battery was very low.
This has happened before and i just press the key fob and all ok.
For some reason it will not disarm now, i have changed batteries in remote but still no good.
Has anyone had this prob

Disconnect and reconnect the car battery and then blip the blipper as it should reset.

Thanks, ended up getting in touch with Carl
He instructed me in what to do to deactivate the alarm
and i drove down to his place at the weekend and i now have
a re-programmed alarm 2 new key Fobs and a new C.D. player to boot
at a very reasonable price.
