My Golf VR6 requires new shocks all round but have no idea what I should put on and whether I am being ripped off.

It is getting on a bit and so really looking for the best value (cheap! ) on the market that is suitable...what is there and how much should i look for supply and fit?

Do i need springs and dampers??? Do i need new bump stops???? Apparently only the dampers are leaking a bit.

HELP!

the rear suspension is shocking to me

there is a 4wd system that has independent rears althought the back box is diffrent even on modded versions but if you could get some of the 4wd suspension set up fitted to the back end this might help

just an idea

Yes, rip the stock stuff off & bin it, even when new it was a wallowy bad handling barge.

Full Eibach kit= jobs done, how it should have handled as new.

Most likely the rear axle bushes are past their best too.

Whatever you do not do not buy the cheap Bilstein Streetline kit. It start of as tollerable but after a few thousand miles ends up as truly appaling.
