Commodore has a new owner
Discussion
Hi guys,
Just to let you know that I waved a tearful goodbye to my Commodore this afternoon. Everyone in my close is also sad to see her go, even the old boy across the road. Unfortunately they're all going to have to revert back to using Radio Alarms as there will be no 07:30 V8 symphony to wake them. We (all the blokes) spent many happy evenings & weekends washing & polishing the cars together so it's a loss to us all. However my personal circumstances have changed so the car isn't required and it hurts even more to have her sat doing nothing. She's gone to a good home which is all I could have asked for and have no doubt the new owner will be tuning her up and even perhaps treating her to an LS7 in the future
So if you see 'SS HSV' (Simon Jenkins) on here give him the usual friendly Holden welcome
I'd just like to express my deepest thanks to all of you who've helped me, especially in the early years. The trips out with you all have been some of the best. I'll still keep my eye on the forum and help out where I can as my passion for Holden will never dwindle.
Drive on!

Hi everyone. I would just like to say thanks for both the introduction and also for the magnificent car from Steve. I am truly smitten with it as it far outweighs my expectations. I must commend him for his reverence and attention to detail in looking after it. I hope that I can continue the tradition and add a few more choice upgrades in time. I am very interested in exploring either the LS7 route, or forced induction as I have read many a thread where owners are very satisfied with the results.
I picked the car up from Steve's house this afternoon, and left about 5.30 pm - ish treating her to a full tank on the way back. I have just got home after a proper 'getting to know you session'
and the time now is 12.35am.. the fuel guage is now hovering above empty
All in all I cannot fault the car although when I bought it there was a little red light near the ashtray which seems to have been fixed now by switching it permanently off
I look forward to meeting some of you in person at the Ace as its local to me and also a regular haunt as I am a biker, albeit fair weather!

A man of great taste. Not only have you had a number of Ford's finest (Capris) but your profile says you also have a 300zx.
Hi TT
Thankyou for your kind words. Yes I have a soft spot for RWD torquey arse-end out motors
and had a lot of fun with my Fairlady import. Have you come across SE Nissan in Malden? Great guys that know their onions. I really loved that car and Dan Dan the Nissan man in Slough's mechanic said it was the quietest non-rattley 300 ZX he had ever heard. Their service manager moved it after a cambelt service and noted 'animal like performance' on the job sheet
I sold it before I ended up with an engine repair bill higher than the value of the car, as that would have been frightening money to rebuild
When I was about to drive away after the last upgrade from SE Nissan, I was chatting to an owner that had spent £12k on a 660hp conversion.. he gave me a ride too
With 440hp I had to keep everything I had focussed but with that power you would have to be a rallye driving god
Sorry for the O/T content guys!

Welcome to the fold Im sure you will enjoy.
ps red light now off?!! on my GTS-R that means traction control is enabled eg no traction control when lit.

Hi v8nhh
Sorry for the confusion - yes I meant to say that the traction control is off and not the red light! I need to spend some time learning this remarkeable vehicle without driver aids.. actually there's an oxymoron if ever I have heard one. How on earth can traction control be a driver aid
SS HSV, mine's standard and is looked after by a local specialist....and he only charges £45/hour
Mine's going nowhere until she's replaced with a Monaro. There will be some serious mixed emotions that day, as she's been my pride and joy for the last 6 years.
Have fun in the Commodore. I'll look forward to meeting it (and you!) at the Ace if you make it.
