Car would not prime at the w/e, turned the key and no sound. Called the AA out (car was stuck in town) and the AA guy could not figure out which relay did what. He eventually (tested)sent a signal though each individual relay location manually causing the lights to come on, engine fans to fire up, dash lights etc etc but he could not work out which one was for the fuel pump ? At this stage he thought maybe a faulty fuel pump ? To prove this he first of all checked that the fuel cut-off switch was not the problem (it wasn't). He then connected a wire to a 20 amp fuse and then piggy backed it onto one of the bunch of wires (yellow i think) going into the cut-off swich (Black box....emersha switch i think he called it??). This then gave me a constant feed straight to the pump which got me home. Before I call out an auto electrcian can anyone tell me which is the relay for the pump from the picture below and any comments would be much appreciated.

Almost...
[geek mode]the relay with the brown and orange wires coming out of it powers the injectors, AFM and a feed to the ECU. The relay with the white/purple and white/orange wires coming off it feeds the fuel pump and carbon canister (white purple wire) and the lambda heaters (white/orange)[/geek mode]

Surely the ecu powers the injectors direct? My ecu has a common positive to the injectors, and a switched earth for each bank (think it's that way round).
Nope, it the relay powers the injectors and, as you say, it is a switched earth control by the ECU.
