Hello again, i posted a problem the other day about my electrics

see below:

I am the proud owner of a 97 5.0L TVR Chimaera and it is giving a bit of a problem.

The battery went flat the other day which then caused my oil pressure gauge to drop to 0.

Stopped the engine called the RAC

Mr RAC said my battery was knackered and I needed a new one, so I changed the battery then I checked the alternator and whilst on tick over the meter read 7v so have now replaced the alternator and now this one reads 3-4v on tick over and about 5v when the engine is revved.

The belt seems fine as well no nasty screaching / sqeeking coming from it.

The battery light is staying on and not going off, with this new alternator, and I really am stumped, does anyone have any ideas or know what I should check next???????

Now I have replaced the 100a fuse which was recommended and tryed starting my engine, which is fine but my battery light on my speedo will not go out.

What should I check next?????

Humm... Silly as it sounds I'd be tempted to check again (with a meter) just to be sure. The symptoms you describe fit with it being gone...

I would say the ign wire to the alternater is either not connected or bad connection this would make the ign light to stay on on the dash. Or the new alternater is faulty.
if you have checkec the 100Amp fuse
