Loose Diff?

Who's suffered from it then?

Mine was loose before Le Mans, tightened it and it has now "worked loose" again. Initially it was the 2 bolts that hold the front offside plate onto the Diff. I'm unsure if it's the same this time but it appears to be moving in the same way.

I'm fairly certain that the upper mount is ok but I should really check it again.

Any other pointers from those that have had this happen?

Any pictures at all?

What symptoms are you getting?

Loctite 270 the bolts in?

Might have to do that.

Symptoms are the usual clonk under gear change, acceleration adn sometimes lift off.

Offside of diff rises when you rock the car back and forth via the wheel when the engine is in gear.

Ive had the same problem on a few occasions. i my case it was accentuated as the holes in the top mounting plate had become elongated by the movement of the bolts causing more movement. i changed the top diff mount and its been fine ever since. Oh that is a pig of a job btw

have you got the nuts on the back of the bolts? the race tuscans loosen them every time we go out but we don't put nuts on them(in-casewe have to change the diff) loctite the bolt, tighten them
up and then lock the nut up

Had lossened the first time but had replaced them last time with Nylocs. Will have to see if they are still there.
