Cerb Handling like a dream

What a sweet handling car a well setup Cerb is on the limit, did a RIde Drive advanced handling skills course yesterday, one element of which involved driving on a large tarmack area marked out with concentric rings and basically driving round in circles, faster and faster until oversteer occurs and the back steps. What a revelation! you really need to push her quite hard to get the back out, but when it does go it balances on the throttle perfectly, ease off the gas and touch of opposite lock and back in it tucks. We also tried to provoke lift off oversteer, which turned out to be quite difficult in a Cerb, managed it once but failed to reproduce it after another four attempts, think my instructor was expecting the Cerb to behave more like one of its torque laiden Griff or Chimaera cousins, think he was quite impressed with the balance of the thing. I do realise this was on prefect tarmac with no holes or imperfections in the dry, but must say was very impressed with the way she handles. I am running new set of Gaz single adjustables and springs as fitted by APM.
This took place at the Longcross Proving Ground at Chertsey, had a few laps round the snake also, though not at silly speeds, what a place, no run offs or rumble strips just trees and, round one corner... a golf course full of elderly gents whose game was interupted briefly by the snarling, rasp of a cerbera.
The rest of the course on the road was excellent to, learnt some very useful tecniques, no matter how good a driver you think you are theres always a few more things you can learn.

I did similar on my Ride Drive day - and i was quite pleasantly surprised too. Very controllable and inspires nothing but confidence. I had her drifing on my second attempt after getting faster in the circle - what a grin that was!
Didnt snap at all, and very comfortable - could feel everything. I am running pretty much standard shocks / springs with 18" spiders, and i was still very happy!!
Good guys at Ride Drive. What i also found funny was the guys that had paid huge amounts of money to hire the cars to get the trackday experience - then you turn up in a Cerbera that walks all over every car they had there!!!

I'm glad the set-up you've found works well, and echo your sentiments about Ride & Drive. Worth every penny.
I remember a rally at that venue: The 1/3 hill was quite a challenge, as you had to approach it at and angle, then you got airborne on the way down..
I also remeber a Nova rally car, who had been doing really well, stuffing it on a winch fitting after the snake opens up into that parade ground thing. Definitely a place to avoid silly speeds...
The TVRCC speed championship visits Longcross each April as one of our events. It is a fantastic place but as you say very scary. I hit over 140mph in the final right hand bend (with the rear twitching like crazy)there in the dry in 2005 to get the TVR course record-strangely it hasnt been broken yet!
Honestly its a great place-cmon you guys. We need more cerbs in the championship next year.

Yes, that hill, its a real hump back, I would imagine it would be very easy to get big air if you hit it at any decebt speeds!
