I'm looking to change my car from my Chimaera which I've owned over 3 years now.... The short list is...

Tamora
Tuscan (find 1 with a recent engine re-build)
Grif 5.0 (would love a final 100 car but are these over priced?)
Last of the Chimaeras with the enclosed headlights (4.5 or 5.0)

The Chimaera seems to be the best value and still love the shape. Worry though that I will want a change in shape soon if I buy another.

Tamora seems to be great value but worried about the Speed 6 engine. Can get a newer car than a Tuscan for my money.

The Tuscans seem to be getting good value now if I can find 1 with a recent engine re-build.

The Grif's (last 100 made) are a true classic but I worry that they're over priced.

Any opinios would be appreciated.

Cheers

Phil

If your worried about the speed 6 engine then I think (if I'm correct) that rules out the Tamora, T350, Sagaris, and Tuscan, leaving you with a choice of either the Chim, Cerb, or Griff.scratchchin

Hi,
Don't be scared off the Speed 6 engine, if you read the forums it appears that post 2004 engines are much more reliable and most of the pre 2004 have been sorted or should have!. Look after the engine and it will look after you.

I'd love a late griff. Awesome cruiser and they sound like off shore power boats. Guy at my old work had one with straight pipes, everytime he started in in the mini multi storey car park at work he set off a load of beemers and merc's car alarms laugh laugh

Never had a Tiv before, but absolutely love my Tamora. The looks and exclusivity are part of it.
Drives beautifully, and 10k miles on the clock from new with not a hint of a problem.

But I do treat it well; run in properly and always warmed up correctly.

Tamora!!! Its beautiful, fully convertable and I NEVER had a single problem with the Speed6 (although still low milage). It was a great day to day car, but you must keep the revs down until the engine is properly warmed up.

Sounds like you don't have it anymore K.K. What are you running now?

I do still have my Tam but a new baby and the loss of my parking space at work means it makes no sense to have two cars. So I'm currently in the process of selling my Tammy! I live in Central London so Tubes and Taxis are easy! Still, it's horrible to imagine not having my TVR anymore.
