Hi can anyone help?
I've got a 95 4.0L chimaera which has developed some strange electrical problems, first the wipers became intermitant due to a slightly melted autopark switch which i am replacing. At the same time the oil pressure gauge is showing 30 lbs at 2500rpm i have replaced the oil pressure switch recently, also the temp gauge is showing 110 degrees but the water in the top up bottle isnt hot. i presume its an earthing problem but the 3 i've found in the engine bay look ok. any ideas please?

30 lbs @ 2500rpm doesn't sound so bad - why do you think this is a problem? I'm assuming this is when the engine is hot?
Temp gauge showing 110, but water in top-up bottle isn't hot: Do the water hoses feel hot? When you squeeze them does it feel like there is air or water in them? 110 sounds really hot to me - do your fans kick in OK?
You may well just have a duff temp sensor. Alternatively you may have airlocks in your cooling system.

yes the hoses are hot, it doen't sound like air in pipes, 30 lbs is also when hot but it is a sudden change it normally runs at 40 lbs, all the problems happened at the same time?

yes iv'e looked at that one, the one on the cylinder head under the wiper, and the one near the oil filter also checked the connections to the temp sensor and otter switch still the gauge is readin 110 degs. The top of the plenum is hot but the fans are working and the rad is hot????

What does the temp gauge say when the fans come on? Do they come on at 90 and it keeps increasing or are they coming on at 100 plus?

Regards, Robin.

not sure will check tomorrow, if in doesn't cut in at 90 would this indicate broken otter switch?

Thanks for your repies guys.
I have warmed the engine up to about 100 degs the fan didn't kick in so i turned it off. It was working yesterday but the engine was hot, is this the otter switch?

Could be, if you take the plug/wires off the otter switch and cross them (with a paper clip or similar) with the ignition on the fans should start...

If they do it's an otterswitch problem.
If they don't it's a fan problem (fuse, relay, corroded connections, etc...)
