Is it possible to download a snapshot of PH, for off-line use at a later date?

What I mean, for example, is that when I'm travelling it would be great if I could have on my laptop a downloaded file of PH at that time. Then I could surf and browse through it (although it won't be updated) while in the air or somewhere without a good connection?!

Or is that something that should be done through my IE rather than a PH thing to download?

Just a thought from a bored traveller...

Thanks
T

Way back in the day of dial up connections and time limits and all that, I used to click on all the threads that looked interesting and then save them for reading at a later offline date so I didn't blow my limited internet time reading. I think IE saves all the images and stuff associated with the page so it's not too bad. You do have to save each page of each thread individually though, which can be a bit of a drag for nonsense threads.

There are some programs that help automate it, but they tend to grap all kinds of crap you dont need as well, I usually found the manual method quicker and more efficient anyway.

There are plenty of ways to do it yourself. Tools are available that will download all pages that a given page links to, then all the pages those pages link to, etc. You can choose how far they will go. Should get up to, say, the 3rd page of any forum (or all forums if you wanted).

Could be worth a try.
