3200gt - broken my wiper?

hi folks

just washed the car and when cleaning the windscreen the sponge pressed against the passenger side wiper and it clicked down a bit. when i drove the car and put on the wipers there was a thunk noise and only the driver wiper works! the passenger wiper has no resistance unless swept round, then there appears to be resistance again but it isn't moving.

i only touched it with the sponge so would be quite upset if i broke it that easily? is there some sort of reset procedure or have i damaged it?

Can you reach under the bonnet and push the passenger side wiper back onto the bush?

The same thing happened with the wife's Punto and they're possibly the same parts.

The driver side wiper has the motor and the passenger side is linked to it.

Worth a try.

cheers - it's a little plastic cap that goes over the spindle on the metal arm to engage the linkage. i popped it back on but it keeps popping off so I'll try and get a new one but in the meantime i wrapped some ptfe tape around the spindle and it seems to be holding.

well, this little plastic cap that goes on to the wiper arm spindle isn't listed on the 3200gt parts cd and therefore they can only sell me the whole wiper mechanism!!

the wiper must be common with fiat or something so i can get one (just the clip) from a breakers yard?

I would suggest trying David Askew, he is brilliant at what he can get and the prices are very reasonable.
