Ignoring possibly the wheels on these two examples - is it rose tinted glasses or are these cars undervalued by about 50 -100%?
328 GTS's are in the low to mid thirties and they're mere trinkets by comparisson................

I ve owned a 3.0 and several more modern turbos .............anything with a 4 speed[3 0 and 3.3] box is a nightmare with lag and keeping on Turbo ,the parts are a fortune , Porsche still seem to whack up any Turbo parts just for the sake of it ............while i have had a lot of fun with these models look at the price of a 993 tt, think what u get for it and ask is one of these is as much value ...............only the individual can decide that .............personally lovely they look and thats where it ends these prices truly reflect the car.

I'd agree with that.

Generally speaking, as cars get older, many buyers are attracted by simplicity rather than complexity - less to go wrong. Hence the popularity and purity of the pre-74 cars, RSs, CSs etc. The 959 is a case in point. Prices seem to be in the doldrums, whereas 356 Speedsters, 2.7RSs etc are hot property. 911 3.2Club Sport - yes, 930 T - no. 964RS - yes, 964 3.3/3.6T2 - no. 993RS - yes, 993TT - no. (IMO of course).

The white 930 is one of my old cars I had it for 7 years & sold it 5 years ago, then it had some nice engine mods the usual stuff K28 turbo, B&B headers, 964 cams, big intercooler & ruf adjustable boost it gave 375bhp 380lbft torque, 993TT fast. I warned the new owner that it needed the best fuel & not to turn the dial up over 1.2 bar, which he ignored prefering to race motorbikes up and down the A41. That it lasted nearly 3 years before blowing Piston rings is testiment in how good Porsche built those 930 blocks,,, I know the rebuild was more like £13K and was carried out by JZM,,, nice car for the money.

993tt - no?? One of these in good (not pristine) will still be hard to find under 40k. I reckon I've had no depreciation on my car over the last 3 years based on a couple of offers I've had for it and I payed over 40k at that time

Agreed, there are alot of "snobs" acidic toward the 993tt, and they talk of them in the same breath as a 993 RS or 993 GT2 or 996 GT3 saying that they're not classics in teh same vein. However IMO they're missing the point, they're NOT classics in the same vein, but they can;t be compared. A 930 Turbo LE can't be compared to an original 911 Carrera RS is unlikely to ever fetch similar values - but it doesn't make it any less of a classic In my view.
Back to the 993 tt ,they're perhaps not the same kind of drivers cars as the illustrious bretheren I've mentioned, but they were the first 911 Turbos with 4WD (a simpler and better system then the 964 Carrera4), the first with a sophisticated boosted boxer-6 complete with electronic waste gate control and Motronic 5.2 (while it's predesscor had KE Jetronic, a low CR and no knock control), and the first with a low-lag twin Turbo set up. An all weather super car, scortchingly fast that can be used to drive across Europe. So not a track forcused machine, but no worse for it in my view. What a car!

Regarding the 930 series Turbos I think they're excellent cars that are great value for money right now!

I'm not sure I understand your reasoning here - the 3.3 turbo isn't exactly a complicated car is it?...and at least one of these cars advertised is a 5 speed - which made them a lot more driveable. Pedant mode on too - I don't recall any pre '74 car with the moniker of "CS".
