Whenever i see a picture i would like as wallpaper i 'set as background' and the picture is saved but is very pixallated and not very good.

How do i set something as wallpaper that will be a nice clear picture?

Depends on the resolution of the image to begin with.
If it's 800x600, then you'll want to make sure in Properties (right click on Desktop) that the option to tile/scale/stretch is set to none or normal.
That'll keep the image as is, but if you want a full background, then you're going to have to find images larger or the same size as the resolution you've set the display output as.

The problem is one quite litterally of size.

If the picture your using is say 800x600 pixels in size and your desktop is say 1600x1200 then by default Windows will try and stretch the picture to fit.
As you've discovered.... if the difference between the piccie and your screen is lots then the piccie ends up looking rubbish.

Play with Google Image Search and see if you can find a larger version and in the mean time:

right click desktop > Properties > Desktop > Position drop down > Center

This will display a single image in the middle of your screen surrounded by whatever the background colour is, to change this colour use the 'Color' drop down.
