How do you get Google to list certain pages?

[hughjayteens]

Hi All,
I have recntly noticed that on certain company websites, when their URLS is displayed in the SERPS, it lists a few sub pages to the site. For example, searching for Microsoft, pulls up their main site, and then a load of sub pages such as MSDN etc etc

www.google.co.uk/search?hl=en&safe=off&rls=GGGL%2CGGGL%3A2006-12%2CGGGL%3Aen&q=microsoft&btnG=Search&meta=

How do they do this?

I *think* its because they are subdomains that are highly ranked in their own right.

Cant be sure though but have often wondered this myself.

They are called "Sitelinks":
