but the dreaded big fuse let me down so i'm extending the wires and using a better quality fuse holder as i could'nt get a 100amp circuit breaker anywhere
i'm using a 125amp fuse this should be ok and hopefully last a lot longer

i'll post some pics when i have done the cables if anybody is intrested??

I got a couple of 100A fuses on ebay just in case.

I bought a couple of spare fuses and carry them in the boot - just in case.

i've extended the cables and mounted them to a bling ICE maxi fuse holder in an easy to access place in the engine bay plus i've put a new alternator feed cable on aswell no more cut hands reaching in to change the fuse i've also put a 125 amp fuse in aswell

What do you believe the purpose of the 100A fuse is? Other than to fail periodically for no apparent reason leaving you stranded? As far as I can see it is pointless because the problem it protects you against (a short in the alternator/loom) is one that never ever happens. Ucked 100A fuses on the other hand, we hear about every other week.

Looks like a brilliant fix Cossie, the only problem for me is finding the damn original in the first place ??
