Had another swap offer for my R1,sorry to keep bothering y'al1!It's a 2005 XL650 Transalp, only 500 miles! But it's a Cat D.Someone had tried to nick it,buggered up the ignition barrel etc but i was told by the seller that because of the Honda HISS system they didn't get around it.This guy who offered me this works in local bike dealers so can't exactly run away if this goes tits up in anyway! So what do i have to be aware of with this bike?Is it easy to insure a Cat D?The bike was in the paper for £2995 which seemed incredibly cheap and he wanted a p/x/ or a swap,i had a feeling it was cheap for a reason, anyone any advice?

Is that £2995 with a new ignition barrel and hiss key?

If so that is really cheap, insurance will not be a problem, the bike should still be under warranty too, if you like it buy it!

Theres a new lock assembly etc on it,the only thing that worries is that if in the future i try to punt it on buyers will think, mmmm,Cat D?It's just i haven't bought any kind of insurance Cat bike, from what i've read on the net it seems that such a new bike being in this category is quite strange,if it was an old bike that needed the barrel etc, fair enough, maybe wouldn't be financially viable to fix,but a new bike being in this category just because of this? The guy who had it from new got a new bike, just bbecause someone bust up the front end trying to nick it?Seems a little odd?

I dunno about the future problems, you buy it cheap now so sell it cheap later, there's always strong demand for that type of bike, I wouldn't hesitate if it has been fully repaired with genuine parts and is as new (ish).
