USB - Cannot detect camera.

When I plug different things via the USB cable nothing happens. EG: when I plug in my Tom Tom, TomTomHome says plug in your device via USB and turn it on. It's the same thing with the camera and the phone.

Obviously they are plugged in and turned on. It worked OK just now until I unplugged a device wrongly. I pulled the cable out without using the eject hardware thingy.

Is there an easy fix?

Update: It's just TomTomhome sofware that can't find Tom Tom.
