slight knocking noise from the prop shaft / diff?

Hi,

everytime i blip the accelerator after taking the tension off the engine, there is a slight knock (it almost sounds like a pop) as the slack is taken up between the gearbox, propshaft & diff.

It does last, and it lasts literally as long as it takes to click your fingers - any ideas what this is, if its a problem - or is it simply the slack being taken up in the drive chain?

Check my loose diff thread.

I'll put a £5 on it being your diff mounting bolts being loose or the upper bush being shot.

Could also be loose ARB arm, exhaust not clearing somwhere (check out the exhaust route around your gearbox, and the stiffening plate), worn prop shafts / prop shaft drive. All are 'checkable'.
