I've got a loose connection on one of my fan connectors and the old trick of cleaning up the contacts doesn't work any more. Hardly suprising as they're 9 years old I guess.

I've had a look on Maplins website and I can't find a suitable replacement, so I was wondering if I could use crimp bullet connectors (suitably rated, of course) instead? Would have the added advantage that I could heat-shrink them to make the connectors more waterproof.

Can anyone think of a good reason why I shouldn't do this? I'm guessing that there may well be a very good reason that I've missed otherwise TVR would have done it in the first place.

Jon,

I've got bullet connectors on mine well sleeved and heat shrunk and never had any problems.

Had a minor hiccup today when I tried to fit a Mod-wise two speed fan kit to find that none of the connectors match up, so if you are thinking of fitting this kit it would be worth doing both jobs together.

I got replacements for the factory connectors from David Beer. I'm sure he could supply a set for a reasonable price.
