mildly entertaining tonight. altho if he has £20k and wants an involving sports car why not a TVR as one of the 3 used cars? Mind you it would get boring if they recommended a different TVR every week... or would it?

Ah, but he ended up with a daring, striking Morgan 4/4. How more involving can you get? <== NOTE: IRONY!

I thought they said he had saved up £25,000, in that case why not get the MG and spent the £6K that was left over on a modern runabout for the days it was off the road.

I just knew he wouldn't want a yellow S2000. All that digital stuff - he was just being polite. Thought the Honda dealers were to55ish. Bit like Audi dealers in my experience - you want a discount sir? I CAN'T HEAR YOU. Sod 'em and buy a 6 month old car I say.

I thought the S2000 GT for £25k was a good deal. Did not think they were that cheap (not that I have £25k to buy one!).

The bloke did say at the start he wanted something British and involving.

You cant get much more British and involving than a nice used Tuscan!

Why was the X-type in the new car section? He said he didn't need a sensible car as he had the C5 estate. Perhaps an MGF would have made a good counterpoint to the S2000 and the classic MG.

And, why not a Morgan Plus 8, much more tuneful.

I hope he doesn't drive round my area - he was all over the bloody road at various points in the program, looked as if he was seriously "medicated".

Still, nice to see he opted for the Morgan and not that bike in cars clothing

Over on the Lotus 7 Club site (Blatchat) they're disappointed that he didn't go for the Caterham - truly the definition of a "British" and "involving" car.

If you look at www.libramotive.com you'll see the cream Morgan from last night's show is still for sale at a screen price quite a bit lower than it was...

actually you're/they're right... now that I think about it I'm surprised he didn't get that. modern (so relatively reliable, as he puts it) but with traditional driver values.

So whats the score then?

You're given the impression the punter buys the Morgan for £18k then the day after transmission it's up for sale at £17k

But I think he preferred to cruise in a cravat and string-backed gloves.

I wouldn't dare say the R300 suited him!

Since they knew he wanted to drive it pretty much every day, I'm amazed they even showed him the Caterham; excellent car though it is, its only a masochists day-to-day transport. I would have thought an Elise could have featured in the new cars, and why were the second hand ones all so old? Definitely missing a Tiv there.
