Cerbera rev limiter cutting in early!!!!!!!

Hi there got a 1998 4.2 cerbera been driving it for a month now and all of a sudden the engine wont rev beyond 5k. Its like it just runs into a brick a wall. Also MIL light flashes momentarily when it hits 5k. Been told that the cats could have callapsed but had them off and there fine. Im guessing now its a ECU sensor or ignition coil? Just wondered if anyone has had anything similar and what was the cure? Please someone help its driving me nuts!!!

Could be a few different things but someone on the t350 forum had exactly this and it was a kinked/squished fuel pipe - had any work done on it lately?

I would get it hooked up to the laptop and check out the fault codes on the ecu - might give you some clues. If you haven't got the software either someone will post or visit your local TVRCC meet as someone is bound to have it. There's always a TVR dealer too

Sounds electrical to me if the MIL's flashing, although if it has a fuel pressure sensor then it that could be flagged by the MIL also.

Best get a Laptop first and check the few fault codes it does throw up.

On start up are your fans on?
If so then Temp sensor, maybe just a clean or a twiddle.

First check has to be the 100amp fuse.
