v8 Cooling diagram for Rover v8

Hi - Wonder if anyone could help (and I would so appreciate it) - I have a kit car that I am bulding that is using a rover 3.9 v8

I cant figure out the cooling system - and if someone has a diagram of the water flow, and pipes that need to be connected in the most *simple* form it would be so great.

I am NOT using a heater system

Mainfold is a Edelbrock performer

I just need the most simple diagram possible - if anyone could help i would be seriously greatful (and seriously happy).

Hi staurt cant help with a diagram but they are a simple system!, from the botom of the rad it goes to the water pump, from there it travels down both sides of the block, up into the heads at the back, through the heads back to the front and into the inlet manifold, out the stat and back into the the top of the rad, if your stat is a sealed type you will need a bypass for it back into the pump, hope this helps a bit

As v8 says it's really quite simple but can look worse then it is. Are you a bit confused because you have heater hoses to think of or are not certain how the coolant comes out of the thermostat housing? If so, clarify what bits are confusing you and somebody will be along to help.

guess i just couldnt visualise (in my head) water flow through the block - and also the fact that i have no heater circuit to worry about - i have extra hose holes on back of water pump to worry about.

If it's a heater outlet it can be blanked off if you don't need it.

You can blank off the heater return if you like, but remember you *must* have a bypass fitted and it must go from the pump straight up to the manifold or top hose.
