Radio reception in a Griff

Just purchased a Griff 500 (not collected yet - can't wait - but then you'll all understand that...)

On the test drive, I tried the radio cassette, and the radio reception seemed very poor. The current owner admitted to never having used the radio (well I guess you tend not to with a glorious v8), and there was no obvious aerial.

So where is the aerial and are they generally OK ?

No sorry, they are usually crap. The aerial is a loose wire behind the dash or whatever TVR decided to fit at the time. The best bet seems to be to fit a powered aerial amplifier. Rich...

David Beer of modwise does an amplified aerial kit here. I've got one and it's excellent as are all the mods he does.

If you want good reception that's the kit to get, you should also check out his "Boot release kit", it's brilliant.
And his..... etc, i'm not on his payroll butt do have (nearly) all his gadgets, excellent service, easy to install, and a nice bloke.

Got one on these in te 4.3. I tried the radio (just to check it worked) and I picked up a Spanish station!!!! Pretty impressive when I live in Birmingham!

richb - that's the only thing wrong for me, too: poor reception for Five Live progs. FM is fine, so news on R4 is ok. I thought it was the lack of a suppressor, but there's one on so I am stumped. As for music, agreed: who needs it in that motor?
