I am just about to spec these for my Nov GT3 but am a bit worried that I might be too big to fit in them. They are the same seats as the CGT but my OPC in Central London don't have a car which I can sit in. Reading do but that's miles. So....does anyone have a CGT in central/south London I could sit in? I promise to wash my bum!

thanks

Hi i am also in the same boat as you re speccing a gt3,but yesterday did sit in a 997gt3 at brands hatch porsche hospitality day.The car was clubsport so had the nomex/fabric cgt seats.I must admit they are pretty snug fitting to say the least and am definately having 2nd thoughts for my car,may save myself the 3 1/2 k and get normal sports seats

I've sat in them on four occasions and they are lovely, and add to the whole GT3 experience. But:

- They have limited adjustment (rake)
- They won't suit everyone's shape and size
- Getting in/out is a bit trickier
- They are expensive
- The standard sports seats, with alcantara, are very good for most people, with more adjustment and heat option

Whatever you choose you could probably change later. There may even be people who'll want to swap (with cash adjustment).

I've sat in them and they are ok, but if you are a bit wide around the middle, very broad or tall I think they'd be pretty uncomfortable. Also being CF they don't flex much to adjust for your shape - it's you that does the adjustment to them! Definitely worth a sit in before commiting I reckon.

But were they the normal CGT or wide CGT seats, as there were two choices. The GT3 is not offering any choice in width so prob only the narrow fitting.........

The "wide" CGT seat is wider than std only at the hips and along the thighs. Waist and above, it's just the same.
People's opinions will differ, but I'd say that the CGT/GT3 carbon seat is too narrow and restrictive across the shoulders.

Just for idle curiosity, how do the newer seats compare to the 996 GT2/3 seats? Are they about the same fit or discernably diferent. As for the shoulders - I know what you mean from just sitting in the car, but [you could say fortunately] I am quite round sholdered so when I put my hands on the wheel they are pretty much perfect.
