5000 rpm cough HELP

Can anyone help.
I have a 1998 4.5 Cerbera which has developed a strange, intermittent cough!
The car has recently had new plugs, leads and coil packs. All TVR parts. However, at about 5000 rpm, every so often, when accelerating hard, it has, what can only be described as a cough, or splutter for about 1 second, then fires of again with no hitch.
It is liked the power has been cut totally, but only for the 1 second max!
It does not happen every time, say 2 out of 5 times and only around 5000rpm. It runs totally fine before and after.
Can anyone help or advise what to look at.
