Oh well - my battery is flat again! I fitted an brand new Oldham battery to my Chimaera 18 months ago and due to low useage it has gone again.
Anyone know where I can purchase one online and get it delivered direct to my door?

I've never tried them but Country Battery might be able to help you.

IOf I was fitting a new battery I would go for something with a lifetime warranty, Unipart did have a premium range, if they still do then that has to be worth going for, I got several replacements for my Dolomite and Alfa Giulietta from the Samson range, Also the Bosch and Varta range are good quality with decent warranties
p.s. all my info may be slightly out of date as I work more with boats than cars these days. Which reminds me, now my company works a lot with Cummins Diesel I should be reccomending Banner Batteries, anyway...
p.p.s. If I had to fit a new battery to my Chim, also 98 I would look into fitting a racing type battery, lighter, no nasty acid, and more compact, more legroom? any thoughts?

The race batteries do not like small current drain (i.e. powering an alarm system) and they do not have very high capacity. Makes them a touch impractical for a road car. They will drain quickly ( 2-3 days) unless they are disconnected. You can buy them but would you pay £200 for one with the same current capacity when a normal battery is around £50?

Over the years I to have suffered with continually draining batteries but have found the solution in an OPTIMA YELLOW TOP. Since fitting 6 months ago I have had no problems even after 4 weeks of non use? Cost a bit, UK equivelent of £110 but in the long term seems worth it.Not sure if this model/type is available in the UK, it is a deep cycle gel battery similar to the ones used in sail boats.
