Renault Mégane Coupe Cabrio

More style from the French, or is it?

Well, we're not sure what to make of this one. The new Mégane Coupe Cabriolet has elements to it that are particularly stylish yet from other angles it screams boring Astra-clone.

Top spec features include an electric roof, which folds into the boot at the push of a button. That roof is no ordinary steel affair either, with glass panels offering plenty of light even when the roof is raised.

With the roof off, the well proportioned car is almost pretty, but the slab sided styling show a lack of imagination at Renault.

It's sure to be a success though, providing a chic hard topped motor for most of the year but clean lines when roof down in those few weeks we call the summertime.

Although i'm a big fan of the megane's styling anyway, i think this looks even better. Even if it is jumpingo n the bandwagon a bit.

Looks great but it's still a hairdresser's chop-top isn't it. Big improvement over the Megane saloon (though not as overtly French as the Avantime or Vel Satis)

looks really nice. definitely an improvement on the current one. Any idea when it's going to be available?

I don't understand this craze for hard-top-convertibles. Sure - better security and perhaps less wind noise? But the compromise means sod all room in the boot!

At least it removes that awful family rear style as seen in the saloon and Clio, Vel Satis etc.
