Give it a go? You'll never know till you find out - dad has anthracites on his Tuscan and when he cleans them they come up very well with just a bit of the stuff left over from actually doing the body itself...

Use something mild to get rid of the initial crap, car wash shampoo and an old sponge will work fine. Then use a clay bar as advised earlier with plenty of detailer. After this step, give them a quick wipe over again with a sponge and car shampoo and apply a coating of rim wax or equivalent. The next time you wash, you'll only need a hose or at worst a sponge. I can't remember the last time I used wheel cleaner after following the above method.

You can get rim wax from Car Wash n Wax.

I use Autoglym wheel cleaner and a megs wheel brush. Brings them up a treat!
