968 CS and Rear Seats
Discussion
Sorry in advance if this is a stupid question
Do 968 CS have rear seats?
Owned 944 turbo 10 years ago and then a 993 and 924S.
Want another Porsche but dont want to spend the earth and think 968 best compromise of age/price. I would like to be able to put kids in the back soemtimes, hence the question
Thanks Guys

Normally no, as the buckets don't allow access into the back. Some club sports were fitted with comfort seats (more commonly lhd ones), and a few have been converted to the same spec (like this one : www.pistonheads.co.uk/sales/65082.htm).
If you can't find one of these then a Sport is effectively the same as a club sport with comfort seats, except that it also has a few electric bits put back in, like leccy windows, mirror and tailgate release (instead of a cable from inside the car).

Hi Mark, after my shameless plug ....basically the 968 had the full sport cloth interior (black) with front and rear seatbelts / front seats / rear seats / full carpet etc etc
We are just about to put the roll cage in so everything is coming out next week and will be stored or sold.
I can't imagine its that difficult to retro fit but I am not a 968 expert so a more experiened owner will be able to tell you I am sure.

The interior will go straight in, the only thing you`ll have to have a little fiddle with is the hatch release. On a club sport it`s inside the car on the left hand (looking forward) inner rear quarter panel area. This will be hidden by the fitment of a rear seat and you`ll need to sort something out. The simplest solution is to fit a strap to the handle, the best solution is to fit a solenoid to the hatch latch assembly.
Hope that helps.
