Finally got the Chim back after a prang in November. Picked it up on Saturday. Looks great! Needed a new passenger door and off-side front corner section. Blending the paint job turned into a full respray.

Had a scare on the way home. Quick blast on a clear motorway, just to check everything was working you understand, and suddenly the cabin appeared to fill with white smoke. Jesus, Mary, Joseph F**K!!! Coasting along listening for unhappy noises, check the guages ... no more smoke ... everything looks OK. Try winding it up again ... exactly the same thing happens ... aahhhghhhh ... but this is odd, doesn't smell like smoke and there is a white deposit on the bottom of the windscreen.

Yup. Dust and fibres from the fibre glass work coming through the airvent. Lots and lots of it. They'd done a nice job valeting the inisde of the car (except for the obligatory footprint on the passenger seat), but left a dustbomb in the pipes.

Continued rest of journey with sun glasses on a handkerchief tied over mouth, windows down and blower on full. Quick vacuum and wipe down and everything is fine again. Eyes itched for two days and I looked like I had been dipped in icing sugar when I got out of the car.

Sorry but the thought of you getting out at home looking like you'd fallen in a vat of flour is too funny to bear

No harm done fortunately
