Did anyone see the Men's pro road race on TV, Sunday? Super race, one of the fastest for years. I thought Millar was going to get in the gongs for a minute, but still a worthy winner in Bettini. Bravo!

Millar rode a great race; possibly because he was disappointed with his TT result. He rode off the front and when it eased at 1km to go, he went again, knowing he very little chance. His comeback has been inpsirational really. But Bettini...after riding like a c**k in Montreal, where he also should have won, he really took the bull by the horns this time. Technically he shouldn't have been up there because it was a bit of a young man's circuit I think. For him and Zabel to be fighting it out shows the true calibre of these riders and just how hard the Worlds RR is. There's never a lucky winner (alright Fondriest..but he would've won *possibly* in later years anyway), everyone's on the rivet and the last lap of this event, every year, is one of the highpoints in cycling for me -- like the Mur in Flanders or the last 30km of Roubaix. Nothing in a Grand Tour even comes close.
